Camille ‘Cami’ Sparks was raised in a middle class family, but she never went without. Her family had a quaint apartment in Brooklyn where she grew up as an only child. For the most part, she went without trauma - apart from the night that they got robbed. As an 8 year old, she hid in her wardrobe as her parents got beaten by some guys with ski masks on. They took everything that was worth anything, including some cherished family heirlooms - her parents came out of it alive, but it certainly put a strain on how they lived. But her father still owned a bar, it was quite run down and didn’t make the most money but she loved spending time there as a child. All the regulars were her ‘friends’ and she grew up with a network of people, she knew about all their lives - the cheating husband forever unhappy in his marriage, the sad old man that lost his wife and now drinks his sorrows, only finding joy at the bottom of a snakebite and simply the ones that came in for a chat and a pint. In her teenage years, she began to help her father around the bar - serving customers, running burgers out to the few that ordered food before she began taking on more responsibility such writing the staff rota’s, making orders and rearranging the premises to look more pleasing to the eye. It was under Cami’s care that her fathers bar began to thrive, and when she was 21 the bar was officially signed over to her. And so The Royal Oak turned into Victrola, a bar for the sinners of New York - full of burlesque and live music on every night of the week was when it became the number one destination to get away from the hustle and bustle of the outside work. She lost her fathers regulars, but now she had her own.

In the present, at 23, Victrola finally reached what she always wanted it to be. Whilst running a business, Cami became quite uptight within herself. Obsessing over every little detail of Victrola, from how the waitresses dressed to how they placed a glass on the bar. She had lost the once brilliant relationship she had with her parents, mostly due to apparently ‘ruining’ her father's legacy. But in her eyes, she turned business around and began to actually make a profit in sales.
